Welcome to the St Charalambos Greek School web pages.



We offer Greek language and culture lessons to children from 3 to 17 years old, and are based in Luton, Bedfordshire, and also have an active social community among the families of our pupils.

The school runs on Saturdays from 9:45 am to 1pm, at Beech Hill primary school, Dunstable Road. The school operates under a 3 term year; Autumn, Spring and Summer, in line with the Luton academic year.
The school is a registered charity. Fundraising functions and events are organised by the committee and the parents - a proactive school environment.

History of the school

The school was founded in the late 1990's, starting with just a few pupils. The number fluctuated over the years and has been stable at around 30 for the last 6 years. This number has made it possible to provide a range of classes for different abilities and ages.

Parents and Adult Learning

During class time, parents are free to leave the school; however there is always a lively atmosphere in the parents' room, including drinking tea and coffee, eating cakes cooked by the kind ladies on the cake rota, and a great deal of general chatting.

This year it is envisaged that there will be opportunities for adults who wish to learn the Greek language to have the opportunity to do so with one of our teachers. The lessons will also be on Saturday and will last for 1 hour.
