St Charalambos Greek Community School
Luton

Our Aims and Objectives
We are a non political educational establishment providing education in Greek language and culture.
We strive not only to teach our students Greek language, but also to educate and enhance their knowledge of Greek and Cypriot lifestyles.
This includes a range of experiences from the Greek Orthodox religion to the language and culture of the Hellenes. The school embraces traditional costumes, dance and music, celebrations
of popular events, folk plays, historically important dates, poetry and an understanding of being Greek in all generations, both here and in the homeland.
We also explore and reflect on how
this has changed with time and social influences. Additionally we help students to move with the changing times and discover and retain an essence of their culture and what it means to be
Greek.
We aim to pass on enduring values of our Greek heritage and at the same time display respect and appreciate different beliefs and cultures as exhibited with recent local activities in
Luton.
We also aim to achieve high standards in education and preparation for GCSE and GCE level examinations. We are proud of our successes in examinations, the results of which are high,
giving prospective students tangible and achievable targets.
